Police have found the six French bulldog puppies which were stolen from a house in Rochdale and will reunite them with their owner as soon as possible
Five people broke into a house on Partington Street on Saturday and made demands for mobile phones, but after searching part of the property they dognapped the puppies.
Detective Sergeant Karen Siddal of GMP’s Rochdale Borough, said: “It’s been an extremely long and frustrating time for the owner of these dogs but I’m happy to say they will soon be reunited.
“We continue to investigate the incident and encourage anyone who knows anything about it to get in touch with us.”
The six puppies stolen are called Don, Django, Brutus, Scarface, Savage and Queenie.
Pure pedigree French bulldogs are known to sell for more than £1,500 in the UK.
According to the Kennel Club, French bulldogs are set to overtake Labrador retrievers as the UK’s most popular dog breed by the end of 2018 – the first time the Labrador will have been knocked off the top spot in 27 years.
The theft took place at around 9.40pm on Saturday 28 April 2018, and anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4810 quoting reference number 2351.
