An eagle-eyed Prince of Wales spotted a culinary faux pas during a visit to a major Cornish country show – scones spread with jam and cream the wrong way round.
But during a visit to the Royal Cornwall Show the heir to the throne – who is the Duke of Cornwall –noticed a young boy with some scones covered with cream and then jam and quipped: “Have you got that the right way round?”

The heir to the throne and the Duchess of Cornwall had just watched a parade of floats featuring 58 rural and agricultural organisations and charities associated with the prince.
The Prince’s Countryside Parade celebrated Charles forthcoming 70th birthday in November by creating a colourful reminder of his work supporting rural life and wildlife.
During their visit to the show, which brings together the best in produce, animal livestock, crafts and food from Cornwall, the couple toured tents displaying everything from local cheeses and ciders to the Cornwall Air Ambulance which Camilla supports as patron.
