Teenager dies after crash near Blairgowrie

A 19-year-old man has died following a car crash near Blairgowrie.

Hamish Farquharson, from Ballater, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the incident on the A93 on Saturday.

He was driving a Mini when he collided with a Mercedes car driven by a 44-year-old male driver, who sustained minor injuries.

A 48-year-old woman, a passenger in the Mercedes, suffered serious injuries.

The road was closed by police to allow investigations surrounding the collision to be carried out.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact police.
