Black day for bike enthusiasts

The Bonneville Bobber Black is a more aggressive take on the British motorcycle manufacturer’s fastest-selling bike.

Featuring a black painted exhaust, black brake pedal and black-powder coated engine covers, the Bobber Black is a meaner-looking version of the popular Bonneville. It shares the same 1,200-cc engine, but receives the highest-specification brakes available in the Bonneville line-up. Brembo twin-piston calipers sit over 310-mm front discs, while a single rear disc provides braking performance at the back of the bike.

Full ABS is included as standard, as are two selectable riding modes – Road and Rain. While both deliver full power, Rain mode gives better control and safety in tricky riding conditions.

The Bobber Black also features a new, black-painted twin straight-line exhaust with sawn-off peashooter silencers for a true custom appearance.

A large 16-inch front wheel with black wire spokes gives the Bobber Black an even more muscular stance. The front end of the Bobber Black benefits from a full LED headlight with LED daytime running lights. Cruise control makes long-distance rides a little more comfortable too, and is operated via a single button mounted into the left-hand switch cube. The all-new Speedmaster brings a new dimension to the Bonneville line-up. With much more classic British custom laid-back attitude, forward footpegs, swept-back beach bars and comfortable pillion capability, the new Speedmaster delivers a distinctive cruiser riding style.

High-specification rider-focused technology combines with elegant engineering to provide a superior level of handling, comfort and control.

Beautifully crafted, the new Speedmaster delivers a host of unique premium touches, such as elegant headlight nacelle detailing, alongside its classic Bonneville DNA, signature styling cues and that all-important Bonneville Bobber high-torque engine tune, hard-tail look and attitude.

The other bikes launched on the night were the Tiger 800 and Tiger 1200.

Dealership owner Bob Eve commented: ‘We had a great night launching these exciting new models to everyone. We always enjoy our launch evenings and treat them like a social event, a getting together of like minded people to chat over innovative new bikes from Triumph.

‘The Speedmaster seemed to attract the most attention on the evening but I’d say test ride bookings have been pretty equal across all of the new models – we are looking forward to spring now!’
