Set to go on sale from 1 August 1, the hatchback will start from £16,720 and be offered in four trim variants, with three engines and two gearbox options available.
Starting the range are ‘2’ models. As standard, they’re fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, along with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Blue Edition trim comes next in the range and is a special-edition model at launch, bringing all the equipment over from ‘2’ and adding 17-inch alloys, privacy glass, electric folding mirrors, rear parking sensors and LED headlights. The infotainment screen is also upgraded to eight inches and gains a TomTom sat nav. As the name suggests, just the one colour is available for this trim – Blue Flame. It’s priced from £19,296.
Following on is the ‘3’ grade. This builds even further on the Blue Edition, adding rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, LED indicators, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a 4.2-inch information display in the gauge cluster. Pricing for ‘3’ Ceed starts at £18,896 for the 1.0T-GDi petrol model
At the top of the range is the limited-run First Edition trim, available for a limited time following the launch of the Ceed. Taking all the equipment available on ‘3’, First Edition cars gain tonnes of luxury extras – with the highlight being Kia’s Smart Park Assist System, which allows the Ceed to automatically park itself in parallel and perpendicular spaces.
Other features include black leather electric seats, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, an electric sunroof, keyless start and an eight-speaker JBL audio system. First Edition models start at £23,369.
As for engine choices, there are two petrol and a diesel. Petrol options are either a 1.0-litre or 1.4-litre unit, both turbocharged, with the former exclusively paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the latter has the option of a seven-speed automatic alongside the manual. As for diesel, that’s a 1.6-litre unit, available with both gearbox variants.
