Bus company lines up timetable changes – and fare increases

The 4.2 per cent fare rise was agreed by the Environment and Public Services Committee to reflect the cost of living.

It will come into force on 28 September but will not apply to prepaid commuter passes.Connex, the company which runs the Island bus service, also hopes to make a number of alterations to the winter timetable.Environment and Public Services are therefore starting a four-week public consultation period next week; if the proposals gain support, they will also come into force on 28 September.
