Finance has issued a short statement to States Members to say the committee believes the proposed agreement represents a reasonable settlement when taking into account the projected minimum £7m in legal costs the States might have to pay even if it wins the legal battle with Les Pas.The statement says: ‘While the committee considers the States has a strong case, the magnitude of the value of the land at risk is very substantial.
This agreement removes all of the risks associated with litigation.’
