RBSI’s offshore real estate finance team, together with the UK-based Britannia Building Society, has provided £17m for a company called Decade Property Holdings Ltd to buy HSBC House for more than £19m.
SBC House is part of the Century Buildings development and comprises 55,000 sq ft of office space that will soon become the headquarters of HSBC’s offshore business.
Law firms Carey Olsen acted for the purchaser, Bedell Cristin for the lenders and Bailhache Labesse for the vendor, a company called New Decade Ltd.
The deal is linked to a 15-year lease on the building which HSBC has already signed.
It is understood that the buyer is a single City of London investor.
