Call for private nursery funding

The managers of Avranches and Westmount day nurseries have written to parents asking them to sign a form to put pressure on States Members to review the daycare funding policy.Their proposals have gained the support of Deputy Jennifer Bridge, whose daughter attends Avranches, and who says that the current system actually benefits well-off parents rather than those who are hard up.Parents of children at Avranches and Westmount have been asked to sign a slip saying whether they support reduced nursery fees for three- and four-year-olds, whether they want continuity of care for their children, and whether they want the States to invest their tax money in current private provision.
