Merger is planned for P&R

Proposals are to be presented next week that would see the start of a process designed to merge the Policy and Resources and the Economic Development departments to produce an executive with a wide range of responsibilities.The move would be particularly significant for the finance industry, with a single department responsible for administering most government functions applicable to the premier industry.It is believed that the proposals would lead to the Island’s most senior civil servant – P & R chief executive Bill Ogley – becoming head of the huge combined department.
