Street attack man jailed for three and a half years

Richard Lawson Harrison (32) was convicted at trial earlier this year of committing a grave and criminal assault on Daniel Devenny on 4 April 1999 in St Aubin.Before the case came to court, Harrison – a car dealer – absconded to Spain, where he was eventually arrested by Spanish police and spent time in a maximum security Spanish prison before being brought back to the Island.Yesterday he was jailed for the assault, for urinating in a public place and for contempt of court for fleeing to Spain.
