Drugs man in court

Nuno Ferreira Conde (24), of Dicq Road, St Saviour, reserved his plea to possessing ecstasy with a street value of £6,000 at a St Saviour address.

Advocate Dionne Gilbert, defending, said he had been keeping the drugs for an inmate at La Moye prison.Conde also reserved his plea to a charge of possessing with intent to supply the drug and to possessing cannabis.

Advocate Gilbert said that Conde used to take cannabis but had not used any drugs for months.The Assistant Magistrate, Ian Christmas, said the charge involved a large quantity of drugs and, if convicted, Conde would serve a long prison sentence.

He refused bail because he said he was worried Conde would abscond.
