Left suffering from almost total paralysis, the prop forward underwent a seven-hour operation at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Middlesex.
Although the operation was successful, the initial prognosis left his father, Mike Nicolle, stunned.
But after hearing the news of his son’s discharge, he was ecstatic – ‘elated…
