The supplies, which are just out of date and cannot be used in the Island, are to be taken to London by a driver from Le Gallais and Son who have volunteered to be couriers on one of their regular weekly visits to the UK.
Hospital purchase and supplies manager Jenny Underwood said all the items selected for the journey would be desperately needed for disease prevention.
‘The supplies we have packed up for aid relief are for basic medical and surgical care,’said Mrs Underwood.
Although a week or two past their use by date in the Island, the supplies would be ideal for aid relief work in the regions of south east Asia hit by the tsunami and earthquake.
