The show played at the city’s 1,600-seater De Montfort Hall theatre from 13 to 18 December with a new cast including Grease’s Clare Buckfield in the role of Audrey.
And the theatre was so impressed that the management are now in discussions with the Opera House team about future productions.
The show has been nominated for the Leicester Mercury’s annual Week Awards by the features desk at the newspaper and is up against the drama Master Harold and The Boys and the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in the Best Stage category.
If it is successful, the Jersey Opera House will receive an award at a ceremony at De Montfort Hall on 22 March.
