The Housing Committee have decided not to increase the maximum fair rent levels for more than 90 per cent of properties.

They say that most of the rents are getting close to the target of ten per cent below the private sector, and that only properties that have been recently improved will be subject to rises in April.

Only around 450 properties are expected to see a rent rise.

The independent triennial rent review in October confirmed that most rents are close to the target of ten per cent below the private sector equivalent, so Housing have foregone their usual rise.
