Swiss bank UBS swept the board for the second time, not only in Jersey but also globally.
In Jersey it was voted the Island’s best private bank, best at privacy and security, best at relationship management and best for high net worth and ultra high net worth ($30 million plus).
This is the second year the awards have been made, based on a survey of the private banks themselves ‘to identify the companies that they admire’.
The Jersey rankings for best private bank, in order of preference, are: UBS, Barclays, ABN Amro, HSBC, Coutts, SG Hambros, Deutsche Bank, BNB Paribas, Citigroup and Merrill Lynch.
Best at privacy and security: UBS; Credit Suisse; ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank and Rothschild (equal third).
Best at relationship management: UBS; Coutts; ABN Amro, Barclays, Deutsche Bank and SG Hambros (equal third).
In the ‘best specialist providers’ categories, KPMG were voted best provider for tax guidance and services and GAM were deemed best provider of hedge fund investments and portfolio management (equities).
Most of the companies achieving a mention are part of large international groups, but two locally based companies were included for the first time.
Investment company Ashburton were voted best provider of portfolio management, for both equities and fixed income.
Mourant du Feu & Jeune were voted best provider of inheritance and succession planning, best provider of trust services and also equal fifth in the best specialist provider for trust services in the UK.
