Reprieve possible for Race for Life

The event’s UK public relations officer, Anna Hilton, said that the decision was originally taken because the amount raised by individual entrants in Jersey in 2004 was less than the sum that was achieved the previous year.

‘In 2003, the income to Cancer Research UK from Jersey per person was £55 compared to £41 last year, a drop of £14,’ she said.

Miss Hilton said it had not been the case that Race for Life was being stopped in Jersey this year and then never held here again.
