The show must go on!

The Jersey Green Room Club’s Easter musical, ‘Carousel’, was to open at the venue for a ten-day run on 31 March.

Director David Love is determined that the show will go on – even if it has to be performed outside.

‘I’m very disappointed that it’s reached this stage,’ he said.

‘I’m amazed at Education, Sport and Culture’s lack of knowledge and understanding of how a theatre is run.

They’ve been given lots of facts and figures by Jersey Opera House Ltd, and it seems they just haven’t listened.

On productions over the last five years the Opera House has only lost £84,000 – that’s amazing.

It shows that people are going to the theatre.’ He said that the cast of ‘Carousel’ were working hard and remained upbeat.
