However, there is a question-mark over the proposed development owing to changing circumstances in heathcare in the Island.
Health’s director of nursing and operations, Lynn Swiatczak, said that the plans had been drawn up some time ago to allow for the committee’s bid for capital funding to be considered.
Funding is now available, but Health are carrying out a review of their services and capital projects.
‘This has been part of our planning for a long time, but we’re reviewing all our plans at the moment.
This application is not 100 per cent certain to go ahead, but we’re going to proceed with the application,’ she said.
