And the controversial States Member is now embroiled in a row with the Bailiff who has blocked him asking questions at tomorrow’s States sitting about the commission.
He has accused Sir Philip Bailhache of protecting the ‘establishment’.
Senator Vibert was last week threatened with court action for publishing allegations on two websites with similar domain names to the official commission site.
His reaction to the court threat is ‘bring it on’ and he denies defaming the commission’s director general David Carse and his deputy Helen Hatton on the sites.
The Senator says that even if the comments were defamatory the pair have undermined any case they might have by re-publishing them on the official commission site in a rebuttal of the allegations.
‘They’ll be laughed out of court,’ he says.
‘If Helen Hatton and David Carse feel aggrieved they know the only solution is to go to court.
They know they are in an incredibly weak position, I have not defamed them.’
