Speaking on the future of Jersey at a St Helier parish assembly attended by 24 people – some of them politicians – Senator Walker said that the future was bright for the Island and it was very unhelpful of those who talked Jersey down and criticised its policies.
‘You hear people saying that the finance industry is leaving, that there are no jobs for young people, that the Island is running out of money and that Jersey people are leaving in droves.
Well, that hasn’t happened yet,’ he said.
In his view, the future was very positive for Jersey, with exciting investment going into tourism and other areas.
‘I fully accept that it can be difficult for some people to live in the high-cost community which is Jersey,’ the Senator said.
