Coach Joe Keany’s junior teams – under-12s girls and under-16s boys and girls – have qualified for the Junior National Club championships after winning the Jersey and Channel Islands stages.

Keany, head of performance at Les Ormes, said: ‘These results are a first for Les Ormes and we are all delighted.

I thought our under-12 girls had a good chance of winning their section but to come through and win three sections is a real bonus.

All the teams played well and their success was down to their commitment.

‘The team spirit, focus and determination was outstanding.

I’m extremely proud, the players have all worked so hard and deserved their successes.’ Les Ormes won their Jersey matches against Caesarean before going to defeat Guernsey Schools’ teams in Guernsey.

The Channel Islands champions now await the draw for the regional stages, which will be made later this month.
