In addition to issuing 11,000 questionnaires to Islanders in past months, David Crossland’s office has sent out an extra 6,000 questionnaires to residents in St Helier to try to gauge more public opinion towards the proposed Family Leisure Village.

Mr Crossland said: ‘I have committed Crossland Private Office to make a donation of £5 to Jersey Hospice Care for every completed questionnaire we receive.

The questionnaire is very simple and will take only a minute or two.’ Dianne Weber, of Jersey Hospice Care, said: ‘The money from Mr Crossland would be a tremendous boost for us, particularly as we receive no States funding.

It takes just a couple of minutes to fill out the questionnaire and is a chance for people to do something very positive at no personal cost.’ Crossland Private Office have received 1,700 returned questionnaires already and have accordingly donated nearly £8,500 to the Hospice.

Director Ian Slack said: ‘We’re all residents of the Island and 80 per cent of us live near to or drive by the waterfront every day.

We want to know if Islanders think the plans are good.’
