The Princess will arrive in the Island at 2 pm and will go straight to Jersey Hospice Care, where she will be met by the Bailiff.

Hundreds of Islanders have spent the past year raising money for Hospice and Save the Children by taking part in the Jersey Workplace Challenge.

The Princess has been invited to attend the conclusion of this event in her role as president of Save the Children.

At Hospice she will be introduced to senior nurse and home care Sister Margaret McGovern and council chairman Dr Gari Purcell-Jones, who will show her around the day hospice, the in-patient wing and the gardens.

Dr Purcell-Jones said it was a great honour to receive their first visit from the Princess.

He said: ‘This is a wonderful boost for the morale of the Hospice and represents the end of a year’s work by the workplace challenge teams.

This is recognition of all the hard work they have done and we are delighted that Princess Anne will be with us.’ After her tour of the Hospice, the Princess will travel to Trinity to receive an update on the work of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
