The Jersey Polish Association has been set up to help Polish people integrate with the local community and use States services.
It all began earlier this year when a group of young Poles who regularly attend St Thomas’s Roman Catholic Church decided that their community needed a support network.
Meetings are now held every Thursday and Sunday night at 7 pm at the church hall in Val Plaisant, and, thanks to support from Canon Nicholas France, Fathers Michael Marrett Crosby and Peter Glas, the meetings are already proving to be a great success.
The most recent monthly Polish mass, which is always on the last Sunday of each month, was attended by more than 100 people and traditional Polish food, prepared by Polish chefs, was served.
