In 2004, the 0800 555111 hotline received 344 calls, which led to 37 arrests.
And in the first six months of this year more than 115 people called in, resulting in eight arrests.
The largest number of calls are about drug dealers, with drink-driving, traffic offences and vandalism also high on the list.
