A total of 1,606 callers voted against Dandara’s £150 million Castle Quay scheme compared to 501 in favour, while the lines for entrepreneur David Crossland’s £45 million Les Jardins development registered 1,308 votes against and 226 in favour.
Readers were asked how they would vote if they were members of a planning committee considering the proposals.
The result has been described as a good barometer of public opinion by Deputy Alan Breckon who last week lodged a proposition to limit the height of the waterfront developments to six-storeys.
‘Although the poll is not scientific it is significant,’ he said.
‘It is a good response and a good indicator of how the people feel about the high-rise developments.
Now the debate moves on.’
