Damage estimated at around £2,000 was discovered by the park keeper there early yesterday morning.
Broken beer bottles, smashed flower baskets, empty lager cans and litter bins covered the floor of the pool.
The vandals had also smashed windows of the shelter and damaged electrical wiring.
The vandals struck between 8 pm on Saturday and 8 am yesterday.
This morning, the malicious damage was described by Environment and Public Services divisional director Caroline Anderson as ‘desperately disappointing’.
‘Our gardeners take great pride in their work and the park, which is so popular with families, was looking beautiful as usual,’ she said.
