RockAviation Jersey will be responsible for baggage handling, check-in and customer care on all of Rockhopper’s inter-island services and flights to Brittany and Bournemouth.
Chief executive Noel Hayes said: ‘Rockhopper already looks after its own flights in Bournemouth and Alderney, and we set up RockAviation specifically for that purpose in Guernsey a little over a year ago, so establishing RockAviation Jersey is the natural next step.
We are now fully in control of the whole experience for our customers in Jersey.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Rockhopper, RockAviation in Jersey and Guernsey will be run by managing director Steve Le Tocq, who is currently recruiting staff.
Rockhopper was previously handled by Aviance in Jersey, which contracted all of its passenger-facing operations to Airline Services in January, with the loss of up to 17 jobs.
