After initially supporting the principle that candidates should declare how much they spend on their campaigns, politicians yesterday rejected the details of the law put forward by Senator Stuart Syvret.
Despite repeated calls for the Senator to withdraw the detailed law, he refused and Members rejected the legislation by 34 votes to 14 after over four hours of debate.
