Now one of the Island’s leading family lawyers and managing partner of Viberts, Advocate Colley received the commendation for her efforts on behalf of the ward she represented as a councillor for Southwark between 1984 and 1998.
Speaking shortly after the event, Advocate Colley reflected upon her time as a young solicitor and councillor in central London.
She said: ‘Looking back, my time with Southwark council was very important to me.
As a young solicitor working in a private practice my work as a councillor provided additional challenges and engaged me with the issues at the very heart of my community.
