Mr Claydon had planned to take Aaron (7) and Shauna (10) to see their grandmother in France in August but he was told by staff from the Renal Unit that the Health and Social Services had withdrawn an arrangement to meet the cost of dialysis treatment overseas so that patients could enjoy a holiday.
Mr Claydon wrote to the director manager of medicine at Health and Social Services, Mark Littler, in July outlining his case and asking whether the overseas treatment arrangement had been withdrawn.
But he only received a holding letter saying Mr Littler was on holiday until 9 August and that further contact would be made.
