Polar Bears hunt down Olympic funds for Swim Easy

Based at Havre des Pas pool, the Polar Bears are a hardy bunch who sea-swim all year, and set themselves challenges to raise money for charity.

Recent swims have been around Loch Ness, Jersey and Guernsey.

The Irish Sea relay was hampered by bad weather and had to be abandoned, on advice from those in the guard boat, because conditions were becoming dangerous.

However, all the sponsors generously honoured their pledges, and the money will help Swim Easy with travel expenses to their next Special Olympic event.

Details about the Swim Easy group are available from Ken or Melissa Sheehan, telephone 851629 or 0779 7719 001.
