Deputy Guy de Faye defeated Senator Len Norman by 31 votes to 20 for the position of Transport and Technical Services Minister, making him the only non-Senator in the council of Ministers.

Senator Walker went to the States this morning looking for backing for his ‘cabinet’ of ministers.

He proposed nine Senators, all but one of whom were committee presidents in the last House.

The only newcomer to the list is Senator Freddie Cohen, who will take on the role of Planning Minister.
