In the men’s league Astros One remain top after they beat closest rivals Pentagon Red Hot Tomatoes 3-1 (26-24, 23-25, 29-27, 25-17).

Crills Sandkickers One leapfrogged Astros 2, who didn’t play yesterday, after they beat the MotorMall Mitsubishi Island Ladies 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-17).

Crills beat second-placed Usual Suspects 2-1 (25-14, 17-25, 15-12) to stay top of the mixed league.

Peter Green Builders beat Jersey Post 2-0 (25-10, 25-11) and ABN AMRO beat White Knight Nads 2-0 (25-17, 25-20).

SAILING: Micmac (B Jones and partners) won Class 2 yet again, in the fifth of the six-race RCIYC Freeport Marine Frostbite series yesterday, and stay top of the table with Canders (J Rogers) having to be content with second place again.

In Class 1 Voodoo Doll (Benest and Fellowes) pipped Jack Rabbit (D Jones) while Allen Brown and Partners, sailing The Dogs, won Class O ahead of Myatt and Treliving’s The Bees.

SHOOTING: Winner of the A Class and High Gun at Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s 50 bird sporting yesterday was John de la Haye with 47 ex 50.

Waynes Shales won Class B, scoring 41 ex 50.

Peter Quimby won the C class with 35 ex 50.

MOTORSPORT: Class winners in the Jersey Motor Cycle & Light Car Club Quéripel Cup trial were: Adult A, Glen Hamel (winner of the Quéripel Cup); Adult B+, Richard Mollet; Adult B, Gary White; Adult C, Paul Miller; Junior A, Daniel Jeanne; Junior B, Richard Vibert; Junior C, Christopher Vibert.

MOTORSPORT: The class winners of the Jersey Classic and Modern Trials Club senior trial held at St Ouen yesterday were: A route, Richard Mollet; B route, Graham du Feu (Pre 65); C route, Chris Fox; Pre 65, Archie du Feu.

GOLF: The Royal Jersey’s Mary Ann Trophy competition was won by Martin Sabey and Brian Garner with a total 48 points.

Martin Viney and John Tibbo were second, after countback, with 45, ahead of Terry Smith and Wally Nisbet.

SURFING: Christian Boletta and Sam George shared first place in the Open section of the Cloud Nine surf shop and Jersey Surfboard Club Expression Session held over the weekend at the Watersplash, St Ouen in surf of 2-3 ft.

Boletta and George produced a backhand air 360 and a forehand aerial respectively.

Renny Gould won the most powerful manoeuvre with a full carve cutback and Sam George produced the best forehand cover-up.

U14 winner of the most futuristic manoeuvre was Alex Vibert (radical backhand re-entry) and Nathan Elms produced both the most powerful manoeuvre (forehand top turn) and the best tube ride.

U18 winner was Josh Letherbarrow, with a tail slide cutback (most futuristic) and carving forehand (most powerful).

In the ladies Shelly McFarling’s forehand floater won the most futuristic section and Ebony Carro the most powerful, with a forehand off the top.

Surf doyenne Arlene Maltman had the best tube ride.
