Two on Market break-in charge

Kevin Richard McCauley (21), who was born in Derry and lives in Kensington Place, and the 17-year-old, of Jersey, who cannot be named for legal reasons, each face multiple charges.

When he appears in court, McCauley is expected to be charged with 11 offences relating to the break-in, and possession of cannabis at the Haven Guest House, Kensington Place, where he was lodging.

The 11 offences include being in the Central Market with intent to commit crime at various business premises, illegally entering and intending to commit larceny at Appleblossoms Florist, breaking into and stealing from Simon’s Greengrocers, illegally entering and stealing from Charles Dubois butchers and illegally entering with intent to commit crime at Derek Lidster Butchers.

He is also due to be charged with breaking into and stealing from Garlands Florist, breaking into and intending to commit crime at La Mangeoire Cafe and illegally entering and stealing from Croissant Gourmet and Bloomers Bakery.

The teenage girl is due to be charged with nine counts of aiding or abetting McCauley.
