Division I – Convent A 52, St Lawrence B 12: The game began with a surprised Serena Guthrie walking onto court to be greeted by applause by both teams and being handed a helium congratulations balloon! This was followed by a good-spirited display from leaders Convent and bottom club St Lawrence B, who had to call on Lynne McAllister, Katie Silva and Eloise Martin from their third team.
Player of the match went to the a certain goal defence S Guthrie, while Lizzie McCarthy deservedly won the accolade for Saints.
Umpires: Maureen Cox and Nicky Masters.
St Clement B 35, St Ouen A 37: St Ouen, finding form late in the season, were determined not to lose their second meeting with St Clement B – nothing else would do.
Rhian Evans had a great game at GK putting pressure on the St Clement shooters and claiming the rebounds.
Zoe Burton was named player of the match and worked tirelessly in centre court linking defence and attack.
Hayley Johnson also had a superb game, providing excellent feeds to her shooters.
Division II – Sylvans 16, Convent D 57: Wet conditions made it difficult for footwork and handling.
Sylvans’ Krissy Le Feuvre had her work cut out against a tall shooter but did well enough to pick up the player of the match, while Katherine Miller who began the game as goal attack, took the award for Convent for her all-round play.
Umpires: Jeanette Morley and Mary Metcalf.
JCG 49, Quackers 32: A tough first half hour with little to choose between the teams as indicated by the 22-18 scoreline in JCG’s favour.
They remained in the lead and showed a clean pair of heels in the final quarter.
Their top player was Sam Horsfall, while Quackers’ award went to Tara Morley.
n Umpires were Aileen Binnie and Linda Andrews, the latter stepping in at the last moment to ensure the game was played.
Division III – Convent C 36, Accies A 32: A fast, even game that was poised at 25-25 in the third quarter.
Accies’ new signing Kylie Young certainly had a fair amount of pressure at goal attack, while her team’s defence were motivated by keeper Hannah Cadby who won their player of the match award.
Goal attack Jenny Harrop was Convent’s top player.
Umpires: Dawn Heard, Julie Allen.
St Lawrence C 28, St Ouen C 23: St Ouen came out on top in the previous meeting, but after a tight contest it was St Lawrence celebrating at the end.
It was a high-quality battle in the middle with the centres of the both teams, Liz Luis for St Lawrence, and Alisha Duffy-Breen for St Ouen, winning the player of the match awards.
