The Senator wants to see the traditional details of Jersey buildings brought up to date and reclaimed as an integral part of the majority of new building in Jersey.
The Jersey arch and traditional materials like granite are some of the elements that could see a return.
‘I shall try to ensure that new buildings in most cases reflect something that is evidently Jersey,’ he said.
‘Houses are designed to reflect us.
This won’t apply to every application, but it will apply to a number of applications.
We want to encourage any applicants to understand what we are looking for and try to achieve that.’
