Paul Davis Freight Services is a UK-owned firm that has been transporting goods to the Island for about 20 years using other carriers.

However, the proposed merger of Channel Express and Ferryspeed – which is under consideration by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority – prompted Paul Davis Freight Services to set up its own operation and it managed to do so in double quick time.

It took seven weeks from the decision to set up, to establishing a base and recruiting staff to work from its warehousing at the Elizabeth Harbour.

It is the first new freight company to enter the marketplace in the Island in a number of years.
