The States agreed by 40 votes to two to raise the minimum wage by three per cent yesterday, backing Social Security Minister Paul Routier’s proposition.
Under the proposals, the estimated 8,000 Islanders earning the minimum wage every summer, mainly in the agriculture and tourism industries, will get a pay rise worth around £6.40 per week.
