David Wylie (42) was jailed by the Superior Number for six years after admitting breaking and entry and larceny, three counts of receiving stolen property, dangerous driving and violently resisting police officers.

The Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, said the court regarded as serious breaking into houses and stealing items of value and a sentimental nature.

Wylie had made a violent escape attempt and it was fortunate he was not facing more serious charges.
