He also said that despite a call from a former Phoenix trustee for his resignation yesterday, the board of Jersey Opera House Ltd had unanimously agreed that there was no question of calling for his resignation.
Pauline de Ste Croix helped raise £780 for the charitable trust, launched to help the Opera House in March, with a raffle at a Helvetia School reunion in June, but was sent no acknowledgement or thanks for the donation.
After her story appeared in the JEP last week, Advocate Lakeman apologised publicly and also delivered a letter of apology to her by hand.
However, although she has accepted the apology on behalf of those at the reunion, Miss de Ste Croix wants the money back.
