The Isle of Man will implement the new ‘zero-ten’ tax structure on 5 April this year.

Jersey is not scheduled to introduce the system until 2009.

Under the new tax structure, banks and other finance firms will pay a corporate tax rate of ten per cent while other companies will pay no tax at all.

However, Senator Walker believes that the Isle of Man move will not have any real impact on the attractiveness of Jersey to international finance clients.
