The meeting between Transport and General Workers Union officials and the Minister will take place on 6 March and focus on the future programme of new employment legislation.
Transport Union regional secretary Andy Frampton continues to claim that there are areas of the law which mean workers in Jersey will not benefit from the employment rights available to their UK counterparts.
Local official Nick Corbel said the union, which represents about 5,000 Islanders, welcomed the invitation to talks but he insisted they must be ‘meaningful’.
