Gardener Frederick Carpenter (72), who has been collecting Royal merchandise for more than 60 years, has ordered a limited-edition ornament of the Queen called Trooping the Colour.

Just 395 have been made, costing £350 each.

Last year Mr Carpenter bought a 24-carat gold-plated limited-edition figurine coach to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

It cost £1,750 and is one of 350 in existence.

Mr Carpenter’s home in St Clement is crammed from the skirting boards to the ceiling with Royal memorabilia.

He has more than 5,000 items including some dating from Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century and the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
