The Senator gave evidence to the Corporate Services Scrutiny panel yesterday about areas under his remit.
He said that while he was generally pleased with the way scrutiny panels had begun their work – and acknowledging ‘teething problems’ over communication – there were concerns about ‘one or two’ panels.
Senator Walker said: ‘It is vital that scrutiny acts as a “”critical friend”” rather than a pseudo-opposition.’
