Around 2,500 people went to Les Landes, St Ouen, and enjoyed five races as well as the usual eating and drinking outlets and crown and anchor games, and enthusiastic punters were, no doubt, put in the mood by last weekend’s Grand National.
An estimated 2,000 Islanders watched both classic and modern cars try to beat the clock racing up Bouley Bay Hill throughout the day, and another 800 people went to La Hague Manor to watch a first division football title play-off between Jersey Scottish and St Peter.
The parish side eventually won 6-4 after extra time, taking their third league title in six years.
