There were 30 complaints made against officers in 2005, compared to 37 in the previous year.
However, Islanders could soon be more aware of how to make complaints, as leaflets explaining the process are about to be made available in the Island’s parish halls.
Figures released by the Police Complaints Authority today also show a drop in the number of officers being investigated for allegedly using excessive force.
In the past, there have been up to 17 such complaints against officers, but last year only six complaints of excessive force were made.
Authority chairman Leslie May, who has worked with seven other honorary members to compile the report, said they were satisfied with the reduction in numbers.
