And he believes that privatisation should take place sooner rather than later, providing that any sale can be proved to be in the public interest.
Senator Walker told an audience of 250 business leaders at a Chamber of Commerce lunch yesterday that he would support a sell-off of Jersey Telecom, the JEC, Jersey Water and possibly Jersey Airport.
He said that an examination of the benefits and downsides of selling off utility companies was included in the States Strategic Plan, but he added that there were no specific plans to do so at the moment.
